We are recruiting for an inspiring and strategic individual to lead the Digital Experience team, ensuring that the team and the wider charity has our customer at its heart, and we are creating interactive ways to engage supporters and take them on a journey with us, using digital technology.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops.  Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

Communications and Digital plays a central role at Dogs Trust. We help people know, love and understand the charity and take action to support the charity’s work. We use our understanding of Dogs Trust and audience need to produce impactful and creative on-brand communications, liaising with the media and celebrities, and engaging directly with our supporters. We also play a crucial role in evolving the digital supporter experience and use our internal communications expertise to communicate key messages to employees across Dogs Trust.

This newly created role will lead the digital delivery of communications and integrated campaigns, creating innovative digital products and services that respond to real user needs and expand our reach and support. The successful candidate will drive digital transformation within the charity so that we meet both our customer and organisational needs.

In this position you will be required to develop an in-depth understanding of the Digital Strategy for Dogs Trust. With direction from the Communications and Digital Director, you will update and implement the strategy, taking the lead on all aspects related to making online experiences better for our supporters and turning the strategy into workable tactical plans that deliver impact.

A highly experienced people manager, you will lead the team on projects that create a seamless journey for our customers across a broad range of digital methods including websites, email marketing, social media, social ads, e-forms, apps, mobile and other digital platforms and products, measuring success by a number of metrics such as length of stay on our site, engagement with key features, donations, and satisfaction scores.

A strong stakeholder manager, you will also inspire and motivate the wider organisation to think differently about digital, ensuring the digital team is a centre of excellence and we have digital ambassadors across the organisation, making the most of every opportunity for Dogs Trust.

To be successful in this role you will be a confident leader with significant proven experience of digital transformation and embedding cultural change into a large, complex organisation.  You will have previously led a pipeline of digital activity that is customer focused and achieves strategic objectives, and will be an experienced and inspiration team manager.
