Do you have experience of shaping PR at a regional level?  Are you a self-starter who can get results, while inspiring their own team? 

We are seeking a passionate and flexible individual to lead a team of regional PR Officers and to take responsibility for developing and implementing comprehensive communication activities for Dogs Trust rehoming centres, both through the team and in their own region.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops.  Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

Communications and Digital plays a central role at Dogs Trust. We help people know, love and understand the charity and take action to support the charity’s work. We use our understanding of Dogs Trust and audience need to produce impactful and creative on-brand communications, liaising with the media and celebrities, and engaging directly with our supporters. We also play a crucial role in evolving the digital supporter experience and use our internal communications expertise to communicate key messages to employees across Dogs Trust.  

In this role you will also contribute to the day-to-day running of the Dogs Trust press office, playing an active role in achieving the aims and objectives of the department.

To be successful in this post you have significant demonstrable PR experience at a regional level, developing plans so there is a sustained groundswell of media coverage.  You will have worked in a busy press office, with a proven ability to make things happen with an innate sense of urgency.  Previous line management experience is desirable.
