Do you have significant experience defining and understanding audience segments? Do you have the ability to make recommendations to improve communications activity based on these insights?

We are seeking a Senior Audience Insights Officer to ensure all communications work is audience focused and creating impact, contributing to our evidence-based mindset.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops.  Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

Communications and Digital plays a central role at Dogs Trust. We help people know, love and understand the charity and take action to support the charity’s work. We use our understanding of Dogs Trust and audience need to produce impactful and creative on-brand communications, liaising with the media and celebrities, and engaging directly with our supporters. We also play a crucial role in evolving the digital supporter experience and use our internal communications expertise to communicate key messages to employees across Dogs Trust.  

In this newly created role you will be responsible for helping to create and deliver Dogs Trust’s audience strategy. The role will see you managing all relevant data and insights, helping to refine Dogs Trust’s target audiences and customer journeys.  This is in order to shape content, products and campaigns that best meet Dogs Trust’s objectives. This will involve being aware of how the communications team is reaching consumers, tracking effectiveness and joining the pieces together to come up with recommendations for future ways of working and impact measures.

To be successful in this role you will have advanced analytical skills and demonstrative experience of using data analytics and audience insights to shape projects. You will be an excellent communicator with good attention to detail and a proven ability to explain complicated subject matters in an engaging way to a variety of audiences, both internally and externally.
