Are you a confident and inspiring people manager?  Do you have considerable experience in PR? 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional and confident individual to manage and oversee the Dogs Trust PR function.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops.  Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

Communications and Digital plays a central role at Dogs Trust. We help people know, love and understand the charity and take action to support the charity’s work. We use our understanding of Dogs Trust and audience need to produce impactful and creative on-brand communications, liaising with the media and celebrities, and engaging directly with our supporters. We also play a crucial role in evolving the digital supporter experience and use our internal communications expertise to communicate key messages to employees across Dogs Trust.  

In this role you will be the expert within the team on everything to do with media, including how to build stand-out, relevant stories that create impact. You will be the first point of contact for key internal stakeholders, leading on issues management, developing a strong media relationship programme, and. also leading on celebrity liaison and the development of TV opportunities.

To be successful in this position you will be a confident and experienced line manager with significant experience of leading a team in the delivery of successful PR stories, projects and campaigns.  A brilliant communicator, you will have extensive stakeholder management experience, have led on reputation management, and have a proven ability to influence.
